Title

Translational Research

A key aim of the Department of Oncology is the optimal translation of fundamental research into patient benefit. Precision cancer medicine brings together the concepts of biological selection of therapy with anatomical and functional targeting of treatment to deliver the best possible outcomes for a patient with cancer.

Areas of clinical research build on the themes of DNA Damage and Repair and the Tumour Microenvironment and also cover biomarker studies, imaging and clinical trials. Computational biology sits at the interface between genomics, biomarkers and imaging and generates essential knowledge in the pathway to providing cutting-edge clinical treatment for cancer patients.
