Flexible and Part-time Working
Flexible working can include a wide variety of working practices. The University website provides guidance on flexible working, including details of the application process and a downloadable Flexible Working Application Form.
Part-time workers receive the same access to benefits and entitlements as full-time workers, including training and promotion. Part-time workers receive a pro rata entitlement to leave including bank holidays. More information can be found on the Part-time workers pages of the University website.
Requests from full-time workers within the Department of Oncology to work part-time, or from all workers to work flexibly are given careful consideration, particularly those returning from maternity leave.
Teleworking
The Department recognises that teleworking can be a mutually beneficial arrangement. Teleworking may be undertaken by any member of staff with the agreement of the department. Teleworking is voluntary and reversible at the Department's or employee's request; it may be set up on a temporary or ongoing basis.
More information can be found on the Working from home page of the University website.
Equal Career Opportunities
The University of Oxford Equality and Diversity Unit supports the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive culture which promotes equality, values diversity and maintains a working, learning and social environment in which the rights and dignity of all its staff and students are respected.
Newcomers’ Club
The University of Oxford Newcomers’ Club exists to welcome to Oxford the wives/husbands/partners of newly appointed academics, of visiting academics and of postgraduate students to the University.
